snirt,
I picked up the yamaha bag that fits in the nose under the hood and put a rollup tool kit into that. It works great. Just make sure to waterproof the bag. I've been getting snow building up in the nose area when running in the deep stuff. Just a thought.

I carry a flash light, gas siphon, extra gloves and jumper cables..

THe only tools ive had to use were for another guy to fix his arctic cat.. LOL

Did you know the tool kit that comes with the yamahas are better than the ones that come in the cats..?? LOL

welter,
What are you using for jumper cables. Never gave that a thought but sounds like a pretty good idea.

Go to your local hardware or automotive store and get a set for a motorcycle.. they come in a nice round carrying case and are light and cheap..

I think i paid $9 for mine..

Posted about this same issue. Easy fix someone gave me, use a rubber band. I tried it this weekend and my tool kit no longer comes undone!

I've found that if you put the tool kit in the right direction, so the tie-down rubber strap is going across the "seam" where the end of the cap is, it holds the tool kit closed, and keeps it secured down.
