Top Speed Apex GT?

Not an Apex, but I hit 111mph GPS on my Nytro XTX, all stock with 114studs....Apex GT that I was running with that day was hitting 115mph GPS

The 2000 ft were from the NBSSR radar runs in Sudbury Ontario I made a mistake on her speed - was 120.2 not .3- the others were radared on Lake Simcoe out with some friends.
Other than lowering the sleds what has been done, speed track, gearing, any mods?

WOW! my buddies '09 XTX can barely see the "C" note, on a perfect condition, hard packed he can hit 100 to 104mph on radar in 1500' plus.

machzrobbie, did u put a new windshield on your sled? im thinking that might give a few extra mph

Stock gearing, its been clutched, ram air, 1 inch track with 144 studs, gutted exhaust, power & ignition commander, 4th wheel kit, railer skis, cr10ek plugs - all the usual tweaks.

1/4 mile run radared, 116.5 mph slightlly lowered, 96 studs on stock ripsaw, near perfect conditions. Stock motor (broken in), with some clutching work (magic spring), 4th wheel kit, small air mode. Run by my Jr. sledhead son 3 years ago. They wanted to put us in the moddified 1000 class and I got into an argument with them, so I ran my Turbo down the track and did a nice 133, came back and said "this is modified" Jr.s is stock.

lost 5mph on the same 1/4 mile track when we added another 48 studs to the Apex GT.

The question was about an Apex not a Nytro XTX.

For what its worth the top speed can be anything between 115 and 170 mph depending on setups and mods like nos, turbo or supercharger.

So the 2 real questions may be-
Whats top speed of a modded Apex?
Whats the top speed of a basically stock Apex?

How about a basically stock Apex with no tailwind.Don't touch the motor or add ram air intake or exhaust or fuel controller and keep the 1.25 ripsaw on.

The cost to put my GT for 4 runs between 122 and over 124 mph was 144 studs-which I already had, windage plates and a clutch kit/Supertips and small wheel kit.
Thats it,nothing else was purchased.

It is very easy and inexpensive to put an Apex up to and/or over 120 mph.

I lost speed with 96 studs because of track spin during runs on the slightly uneven sections of the track and also during the initial hookup.

Where did you put the 4th wheel kit? The gutted uxhaust could be hurting it as well. That has never been proven on a dyno to see if it actually does anything or is losing power. Which clutch kit are you running?

I see around 114 on the speedo but i think my poineer clutch kit robs a few mph and also the snowtrackers but from 30 to 70 mph its a blast to ride.

Extra wheel at the back, Exhaust is NOT hurting it in the field, clutching is a home brew with supertips and team secondary

You need to place a small set of wheels at the bend of the rail to help reduce the drag because of the approach angle.

Sorry I actually hit 112 GPS. See my post: http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php? ... hlight=gps

The best I've seen with my 07 Attak was 138mph (dreameter) Stock with a wheel kit and iceripper

any truth to too many studs can cause a slower speed or drag??? my warrior as stated before has 96 pics and has seen 124 on the meter. My apex 300 and somthing pics (installed by crazy previous owner) but can only squeeze 109-111. I am curious.
