Anyone know where to get touch up paint other than Color Rite that will match the Yamaha sleds?

I'm looking specifically for the red for my Apex as I found a chip on one of the a-arms, so I don't need much and don't feel like shelling out $30+ at Color Rite's site.

When it comes to the a-arms and rear suspension, to have them BLACK, would be much easier/cheaper for touching up or repainting.

LB, thanks for the tip, I'll check with my local NAPA store.

Regarding about preferring them black, you can bet if I ever have the rear skid out and it needs refinishing, it will be painted black.

I have one small nik in one of the a-arms, so it doesn't warrant a total refinish, just want to take care of it before it gets worse.

My reference to having these components all in black is simple-much easier to locate black paint, be it gloss, satin or flat and think how much easier for a dealer to stock replacement parts if they used the same color instead of red, yellow, blue or whatever color they have for a given year on the a-arms.

You could try Duplicolor auto touch up paint found in most auto parts stores. Can not speak for red, but I bought silver and blue for a Honda car. Doesn't match perfect, but close enough. A hard look will detect the difference.

May sound dumb but I've used nailpolish before on my bike. Lots of color in red and you can cover it with the clear nail polish to protect it. LOL I'm serious but laughing at the moment.

Mike, That's is funny, but what a great idea. Would have never thought of using nail polish.

Nail polish isn't much different than any bottle of touch up paint. It's still just an acrylic enamel.
If you are thinking of [ainting them black, and would like a factry looking satin black, try using a high heat grill paint. I'll look like a factory black without being too shiny. You can add a little sheen to it by wiping it down with Son of a Gun on a rag. Just be sure to use a wax and grease remover if you need to touch it up later.

Actually, to do it right, powdercoating would be the way to go, especially on the a-arms.

Just to touch up a chip or nik, nail polish would do in a pinch as Mikecam mentioned.
