I'm in the process of getting my front A-arms straightened and will need some paint when completed.

Does Yamaha sell/carry any touch up paints or spray bombs which match their factory colors?

My a-arms are black but imo they look a little metallic( 40th anniversary model) Has anyone come across a paint that matches or is very cloae to the factory Yamaha color?

I was wondering how are you straitening the A-arms ?I have a slightly bent set that I would like to straiten.Sorry I have looked for the black paint as well and had no luck,it seems to have a gray or silver in it.

Napa store's can scan them and duplicate the color, Did it on my 87 FJ. But I would probably powder coat as well, more durable for suspendtion part's.

Google COLORITE. Voila. Or powder coating.

Thanks everyone.

I guess I got ahead of myself and didn't think things through very wellt :o|

I prematurely installed the Ulmer's bushings in the a-arms without first checking to see if they were straight or not.
I also have the left side completely put back together as well, with the Ulmer's in those too.

I assume my only option at this point is the Colorite paint as the Ulmer's went in tight and I am sure if I tried to remove them I would damage them?

I checked the Colorrite site as was suggested but it doesn't list a 40th, only the Vector GT?
Not sure if black on it is the same as the 40th but imo, like I mentioned above, it looks like there is some type of metallic in the paint on the a-arms and the Colorite site just states Black?

Why do you need to remove the bushings prior to powder coating the arms?

They get protected from the powder ccoating with silicone plugs.

I pulled mine out before sending my arms to get powder coated. Not so mush as to protect them from the powder but from the heat. I was conderned that I may have to pull them out anyway after if the heat affected them.

If you want to CYA, find out from Ulmer exactly what grade of bronze/oilite his bushings are made of (841,932,954, 863 etc).

A quick check of bronze bushing material specs on McMasterCarr.com shows quite a few grades of bronze bushings with a design operating temperature higher than what is produced in a typical powder coat process oven.

I just assumed they would have to come out for the powder coating?
Might e-mail Allen to find out for sure.

Thanks. ;)!
