Tow Vehicle forums?

I have a trailer that weighs 2400 lbs dry, enclosed, finished etc, and my half ton Chevy didn't like pulling it amongst pulling logs or whatever. Pulled the boat fine, but gas mileage really suffered when you got into pulling over 4000 lbs.

Solution? Bought a 2500 HD Chevy with a Duramax. I've pulled up to 13000 lbs and gets great gas mileage.

TOW = Duramax

:lol: I love my duramax, it tows great, ; the Ford V10 I had before was good also but the mileage with the deisel is much better. I am sure the FORD diesel would be great also, but when I bought the quiet one was not out yet. Not brand loyal or Bashing just love my duramax crew cab. Can't wait to tow those sleds. SNOW PLEASE yamadoo

bought a new F-250 with the new 6.0L diesel in it and have about 2500 miles on it now. Gets good mileage and has awesome power it will beat a duramax stock for stock. Now I have a box for another 50, 75, or 100 HP when I need it :lol:

I also have a Pathfinder for the wife and would not tow much with it. They tend to overrate some of the smaller suvs. Just because it is rated at 5000lbs doesn't mean it can tow it easily or safely. My current tow vehicle is an Excursion diesel with quite a few performance mods. I strongly recommend any of the diesels for towing and high performance applications. If anyone is interested in a great diesel web site, check out "Thedieselstop.com" . These guys really know about towing and performance. Ted.

Srxspec I think your splitting hairs stock Duramax vs. 6.0 Power stroke, the Duramax is alot quieter and you cant compare the Allison and torque shift, Allison all the way. Then if you want to talk programers Duramax has bigger numbers. I liked both trucks but went with the GMC for the noise factor and the Allison. I run it stock pull 36' 5th wheel about 12500lbs loaded pull great.
