Towing a dead sled

If I ever had to tow one of my sleds in, I would get a flat sled to put under the track and tow it that way.
I know guys that have used a 6 ft wooden toboggan. It's perfect it has the curled nose which rides in front of the track and is more or less pinned there. (but who carries one of those everywhere) Did I mention they own Cats? LOL

I had a VK tow me by this method also. Works well and she can face in either direction.

Another way is to put the rear of the dead sled on the back of the towing sled and tie it down. Apparently it's like rubbing a cat the wrong way and the towed sled will go all over the place. I think that method should only be used as a last resort.

We've done this and it works great for shorter distances. Used some tow straps to tie it to Maim's sled (not in the picture yet).

works much better if you steer the towed sled by standing on the skis. sapplingkiller and i towed one on the jan ty ride 09-10 at 30mph but you need to trust the guy on the skis as it can get out of shape fast. ding and others shook their heads at us but we proved it works.

here is when we towed sappling killers sx500r.

I had to pull my cousin out of a trench he put himself into last year and hooked onto his nytro front bumper. Needless to say we tweeked his bumper from me tugging with my apex to get him out. It was on a steep slope/dropoff though so we weren't gonna take any chances and just pulled directly out. Those front bumpers on the nytros are for looks only.

I had to pull my MP out of a ditch once. It was in an awkward position and couldn't move. Had to pull it out using my truck and used the bumper. No problem at all since it is steel and beefy.

When ever I ahve to tow someone. I tie them bumper to bumper with about 6 feet ot rope quite tight. f-7's are easy, done that slend a few times. I towed one about 50 miles one winter. It did'nt slows us down much. I could drive 50 60 and sometimes 70 mph if I wanted too. A liitle tricky in bumpy trails and slower in turns. also has to no one on the broken sled.
Tieing them with a distance for the tow sled to smash into my sled is not for me.

I send the olady out to tow them with the rhino/tracks. I really dont care if the towee is upsidown or whatever, its coming along, weather it likes it or not. considering I highly doubt she would look behind her, with the music blairing, will quite likely be upsidedown
