pioneer sells a rebush kit for the rxwar but you need to order relay rod bushings from yamaha. just did my old war this fall with one of pioneers kits and those are the only bushings not in the kit. all the bushings come in oe yamaha bags too.

thank you all for the help so far. ive dropped the skid and replaced all of the bushings. just waiting on the rail to show up. ive also removed everything so that i'll be ready to replace new track when it shows up. today i'm going to try to peel the covers on the clutch side bearings and celan/lube them.
i ran into one problem so far...
when i was trying to remove the reverse linkage, i broke both of the nuts on the horizontal piece of linkage in the picture. the nuts turned just fine but the bolt turned also so i tried the impact wrench and the nut immediately broke off. what gives? is there any reason i couldn't just jb weld it back together? sorry, the picture is rotated

took apart, cleaned, and regreased the two bearings on the clutch side today. skid is just waiting for the new rail. and sled is ready to accept the track. i'm glad you guys motivated to go for it on my own. i've learned a lot about my sled
what is the trick with lining up the reverse forks when i put the case back on? what exactly am i lining them up with?
a better pic of the broken parts...

the trick is patience. DO NOT REFILL CASE WITH OIL-until you are sure the reverse is engaging properly. I've had my case apart many, many times, and I still do it. If I recall correctly the forks come in from the top to line up on the reverse.

how can i be sure it's engaging properly with the case closed? is it safe to run for a moment without oil? or am i just feeling to make sure the lever seems to be doing what it normally does?
i figured out the reverse linkage. theres a small 8mm nut on the bolt to prevent it from spinning.
thanks again. couldn't do this without your help

just rotate the secondary by hand to check for binding. you will feel any problems and by hand does not harm anything.

Just look down into chaincase as you are putting on the cover. There is a slot on the gear that the fork goes into. You can see it go into the slot just as your are losing sight as the cover closes. It's really not that big of a deal.
