I just picked up a IQR race track for pretty cheap should i drop a tooth or change to 8 tooth drivers? I have a set off a 99 polaris 700 but dont remember what size the of axle it is. If I go with the drivers do i need to still pull out the tunnel protectors.

For the same pitch drivers, it would be more efficient to keep 9tooth drivers and gear down one tooth in the chaincase.

Does that IQR track have the drive cogs on the inside of the track? some of those tracks you had to run Extroverts on.

Are you ever going to run studs? If you are never going to run studs, just take all the protectors off. It will help with the tunnel icing too.

Changing the drivers to 8 tooth, I think will be like dropping about 2 gears in the chaincase. With 8 tooth drivers a 1.75" track should fit with the heat exchanger protectors on the front...but I'm not sure. I'd call Avid and find out exactly how much smaller the 8 tooth are vs the 9, then do some measuring.

Track has drive lugs and am not too worried about studs. But i was more wondering if it is work going with 9 tooth extrovert drivers and re gear or just go with 8's

If you're not worried about studs, I would just remove all the protectors and run 9 tooth extros and keep it more efficient as stated above, and just drop 1 tooth.

If i drop one tooth can i still run the stock chain i know i read it but dont remember
