I recently changed my drivers for extrovert drivers. I dont know if its just me but it seems like they robbed some power in the top. My clutching didnt change any but im wondering if lowering it one tooth on top would increase my top end or atleast pull harder to top.

Generally extros can rob some top end. Now that you have extros are you running your track looser?

Dropping a tooth on top will gear your sled lower. Top end would in theory be lower. (However I have had sleds in the past that were over geared and dropping a tooth didn't effect top end.)

I was going to say the exact same thing. ;)!

So dropping a tooth could slow it down or help it out is what you guys are saying? Is there a way to up the power on these sleds without turbos or supers? Like cams or something motor wise?

The most power from bolt on and EFI tuning is about 12HP that with full exhaust, K&N's and a good PC3 tune, ulmers sells this as a kit and also supports the clutching aspect of the power delivery which can improve you "feel" of your hp's making it to the ground. You could drop a gear but that will slow you down top end, but will give you better off the line (if you can hook it up)

Dropping a tooth will likely slow down your top end but you may pick up some low end grunt. Gearing is tricky because you can't exceed the grip of your track/weight transfer set-up. What I am saying is gearing down may result in just spinning the track or if you can hook it up, it will come out of the hole quicker.

I did drive sprocket change along w/ 136" extension. Definitely noticed loss of top-end. Had some issues w/chaincase so I wanted to get those sorted out before I did much with gearing.
