If that cut goes all the way thru the track it will not last, if it is just thru the rubber and hasnt cut the plys.......you will be ok

if the plys are the fiberglass rods, they are just above the cut in the pic (finger)
i wonder if there is a way to put 2 rivets or something on either side of the cut with some sort of flexible plastic or whatever material to prevent the cut from getting worse.
i don't know just throwing random thoughts out there.

from experience if you don't do anything to fix it, it will not last. I believe someone drilled a hole at the end of the cut to prevent more tearing. I did not hear if it worked or not.

There used to be a company that repaired track damage like that, but don't know if they are in business anymore.

Google Carrol Tech track repair. You'll find a few places that do this repair.

If you could get it clamped to a piece of plywood and cut a half moon with a hole saw you would stop the tear and the ripping effect.

hole drilled at end should limit further tearing ... otherwise run it

Drill a hole and use a lighter to burn off loose fibers/threads that may occur.

Poke a soldering iron thru it, hole + burn at once.
