track jammed

2006 apex attak 5800miles on it, well maintained, drove it on the truck, got to the cottage and drove it off, no problems took it down the road and back 25 mph, less than 1/2 mi no problems, went in the house, came back and started the machine, it jerked a little but would not move tried in reverse it jerked and would not move like something was jamming the track I checked for obstructions and did not find any. what I would like to know if anyone has any ideas what could be wrong before I take it apart. There was no strange sounds before this happened. any help will be greatly appreciated.

Was there any lube on the short ride? The slides like have gotten hot and the track could be stuck to them after it cooled down.

Check and make sure your hyfax aren't melted to track clips, happened to me before

thanks for the replies, that was actually the first thing I checked and there was no overheating of the hyfax

Make sure your drive shaft didn't snap

i'd get the rear in the air and remove the belt and spin it by hand and see if you can move the track.

yes, see if you can move the track by hand with the rear suspended. No need to remove the belt it should slip on the primary no problem with machine off. If it won't turn fairly easy then just start at the secondary and see what is frozen - possibly a broken chain.

I had slides melt and stick to the front clips only, so even when we picked it up, the track sagged. I pushed the whole track off the slides and saw where it stuck. That was on a doo. Put it up on a stand and turn the driven by hand and see what turns up.

sorry I took so long but I just got back from the cottage, I feel like an idiot, I checked the one side of the track and it was not sticking, the other side had three clips stuck to the slider, I am happy that was all that was wrong, if I would have been a little more thorough I could have saved a lot of work like putting this beast back on the truck with a comealong but thanks for all your replies I am sure this won't be the last time you see me here

Start saying to yourself..'new slides suck!'
They are so much freer with lots of miles...just scratch the thin spots with your finger and listen how thin or hollow they sound. When that line on the side is gone, you still have some left.
But glad that's all it was.
