at the risk of sounding like a tool how can you tell what the pitch of a track is?

what is the proper way to measure a track lug height?

bought a sled and am trying to spec it out to see what i've got

thanks in advance

:exc:

If it's a Yamaha, it's a 2.52 pitch.

You measure the distance between 10 drive lugs(inside of track) & divide by 10.

Lug height is measured from top of track to top of lug.

It's a 162" artic cat track with wahl 7 tooth drivers on a yamaha vector.

thanks again for the prompt info
this is a great site

Right... you definitely can NOT guess the track pitch by brand. Brand + mode *GIVEN* that its stock, sure. But not just brand and not just brand+model.

For instance, don't the yam mountain sleds have 3" pitch now? And they *used* to use 3.29" pitch on some old sleds around 1980.

The easiest way to determine the track pitch is, of course, to use a RULER and just measure it ;)

well i've got a artic cat 162 track 2.25" lug 3.0 pitch with wahl 7 tooth anti slip drivers, on 19 tooth top gear and 40 tooth bottom 68link chain, running across to a artic cat secondary clutch 55/53 helix with rock rollers and a lime green secondary spring 157psi. top shaft is a 1" keyed from the splined.

damn I love this site, had no idea of what i purchaced and now i do.

;)!
