I put a 2.25" Camo Extreme track on my 09 MTX last year. This is a cat takeoff. I have noticed that there is quite a bit of wear on my Avid drivers since I put this track on. It appears it is hitting on the clips where they come up the sides onto the rubber nub. That is the only place I am seeing wear. There were no problems with the stock Maverick track with those drivers and they appear to be clipped the same way. Any ideas?

You will want to run the Whal Bros. anti stab kit

Good piece of mind for 100 bucks

Not trying to argue with sonds, as I have an anti stab kit, but I didn't think the stab kit prevents this from happening? I could be wrong though. From my understanding, the 2.25" Challenger and 2.5" CE is known to throw some of those guide clips. Not sure why, but I have heard that from several people here and SnoWest. I fully clipped my track this last month, but was recommended to use the flat clips instead of the guides.

I think it has to do with track tension mostly.... How tight do/did you run it last year? How tight/loose did you run your front limiters?

Am running track so it hangs just at the top of the nubs as Avid reccommends. Limiters are where Timbersled reccommends but don't remember exactly what hole. I have heard of drivers "wearing in", is this what they are talking about?

Could you take a picture of your Avids?

I'm thinking that on my track not having all the windows clipped is causing heat to build up with the rubber dragging on the hifax and when the interrupted window hit's the drivers its wearing the dogs/tooths. I have the Wahl drivers and ran my track with about 2 fingers drop in the center. I have a 16" ski doo track, with windows in the center, maybe the track is stretching and climbing on the drivers is causing some of the wear also. I may try Avids next, If I can't get through this season.

Thats the main reason I clipped the remaining windows on my track. The heat from the track running on the hyfax causing more wear.

The sled is in the trailer and I am not able to unload it right now. If I don't figure something out I will unload it and take some pics.BordnBill said:Could you take a picture of your Avids?

I would agree with Sledboy as well. I'm thinking the heat from the track running over the hyfax could be the culprit. I notice my avids have a little marking on them as well. Hopefully my clip project last month will help.

This isn't marking, it is cutting grooves into the driver. I think it is the guide part of the clip because it is only on that side.

I will go take a look at mine. I do have markings on mine too. I will try to take a picture.
