Now that our season is about done I'm already planning my summer sled project. I want to install a deeper lug track. I'm torn between the 1.75 BC and the 2" challenger. I know all tunnel protectors have to go and do different gearing. I will also be installing extros. I'm concerned on how either one will hold up if I'm running on marginal snow trails that we have here in Iowa. I will also put on scratchers. I want to be able to tear up the deep snow out west and play at home. There's only a $30 difference in the cost of the tracks. Any advice out there will be great. :yam: :4STroke:

I have the 1.75 BC and really like how it works; held up great this year. If you rode out west a lot, a 2" is probably worth it.

I'm happy with my backcountry. It's got just shy of 3,000 kms so far and seems to be holding up good. No real signs of wear on it yet at all. Hooks up great and does pretty good in the deeper stuff. I don't beleive my sled has been regeared at all and I don't really think it's suffering at all. I'm not trying to run wide open all the time though. There's times I actually wish it was geared a bit lower. Get going pretty fast pretty quick in the powder. Almost to fast for buzzing between trees and trying to be nimble. If you're going to be riding groomed trails you might burn up the sliders a bit quicker. Never had a stock track on my sled so I have nothing to compare to so I can't say for sure.
