I tried doing a search for best tracks and didn't get any solid answers from it. (even did a search for ice ripper, but everything was for 121)

Last weekend at the weenie roast I broke the bolt that holds the Hyfax in place. After 3 or 4 nitrous runs down the lake, Pro116 and his dad stopped me and pointed at my sled. The hyfax was rolled around the drive axle and stcking out the suspension. After checking everything yesterday, the track has a bunch of funny bare spots next to the clips and the drive lugs. The track is stock and is fully ported for my extroverts with 168 pics.

I am wondering which track is the best for mostly trail and hardpack. I do off-trail also and would like to stay with 1 inch and a large stud. But if the ice ripper stands up to it's name, I might just go that route.

Anybody run an ice ripper on the Attak? Comments?

I think the Iceripper XT is the best trail track out there. Have one on my Attak GT with around 2000 miles on it and looks just like new. Iceripper is 5-6 MPH faster than a track with 144 studs in it. I have The cobra on my turbo Cat with 153 studs and don't like it as well as the iceripper XT. I want to sell it and install the Iceripper. The iceripper XT sharp stud is the best trail track IMO.

Will the ice ripper do the trick for a sled on the juice though. Maxdlx

The "Ice" tracks are for trail riding. They don't give as much traction as studs, nor are they designed to. I have a Ice Claw on my SXR and it has held up fine. Has about 5000 miles on it and looks new. Some of the pics are missing but I'd say 95% are still there. I'm looking into the Iceripper XT for my Attak. Where's the best place to buy???

Remember, XT is the sharp stud design. Much better than the old non-sharpened short studs the early original Icerippers or Ice attacks had. My Iceripper XT has better traction than the Cobra I have on my Cat with 153 1.375" studs down the center has.

track

I have the ice ripper xt om my attak put 3300 miles on it so far this year,my buddies with there 96 reg. studs will leave me standing on ice or very hard pack conditions. regular snow or grommed trails its the same, love the fact i have not had to replace any wheels from the studs eating them up. I have never felt unsafe when ridding very hard the studs held there own. I do not have any missing studs yet. on very ice like conditions on take off its less traction than regular studs. Over all i would buy one again Jeff

That is the way I was heading is with an ice ripper XT.

Looking at my track yesterday, It is in good shape, but I am leary on a sled with the bottle and the abuse I put on it.

Wasout for my last hurrah yesterday. 53°, sunny, t-shirts and cute girls, and racing and riding snowmobiles......Can't get any better.

I have my tunnel protectors removed. Are they needed for the ice ripper tracks? I may need a new track for next year.

Ya thats what i thought to,my boy has the 06 rtx 1.25 track with 1.35 studs and i can stay with him on take off on lose or mealy snow but on real hard pack no way,and i have bare 1.25 ripsaw stock track,i figured racing him on bare ice xt vrs studded ripsaw, the ripsaw would walk away from the xt's little penetration in bare ice,but like mike saids for all other things plus top end speed running this xt must be the ticket.

Surfing through the Camoplast site I noticed the track I used to run (121" Predator) no longer exists. Looking through the photos the new Carve looks to be the same identicle lug pattern and profile to a tee. The only thing is, they list it at 39 lbs. when the Predator was listed at 36 lbs. I wonder what's up with that?

Journey how did you like your 121" predator? Did you have a 1" or 1.25"? Im in the market for a 136" track.

Yes Pete, Iceripper XT does now come in the 2.52" pitch 121" long. PS, I sold the Turbo Cat yesterday. Back to my Attak, glad it didn't sell. LOL

favorcat, tunnel protection is still required using an Iceripper. The small studs are about .225"-.250" over the lugs after running track.

Mike i would not mind buying a sled off you when you are finished with it lol,you did alot of nice work on that snopro turbo you just sold,it finally went,to bad you had to give another 4 grand into it to be happy with it,and yes i bet you are glad you still have your attak, thats got to be one of the best attaks around as well, man best i ever got my attak running was 114 gps,but like you already said that iceripper xt track is good for a few more mph,at any rate glad you are back with the yammies mike, now if i pick your brain it will help me out with what i already have, not what i was hoping to have lol..

The Predator is a great all around track. You cannot go wrong with it. I had the 1.25" lug model.
