Trailering - cover on your sled, or not?

My buddy never used to cover his Polaris. His sleds nickname was the powdered donut.

one salty trip down the highway without the cover and you will regret the day you were born - i trailered one of my phazers back from the sight of the crash and it was wet out that day and the parts looked like crap after that - there was salt spray on everything and it looked like junk.

Something else to consider regarding covering it. Think electrical. All that salty crap is going to be soaking down a lot of connectors that can be very difficult to service.
I always spary all the electrical connectors with WD40 when the plastics are off. WD40 will eat up the green crap that likes to form in the connections.

A better tip imo is take those connections apart and fill with dielectric grease, that way the electric contacts are permantly protected from corrosion.

If it's really cold and the roads are dry I keep the cover off. Some things are just too pretty to throw a cover over. ;)! More often than not though I have her covered from the ski tips back unless I'm hauling with my Big Boy enclosed trailer.
