Can someone explain to me how you can stab your track by removing the transfer rod, I have no transfer rod & after riding this weekend the two black plastic stoppers @ the front of the slide rails were broken off, not sure how this can happen?

Those rail tips are not fastened well to the rails at all. They come that way from the factory
Probably in an effort to save weight, Yamaha uses one rivet to hold each tip in place. I found mine to be loose when I pulled my skid this weekend.
I'm going with bolts and nylocks to hold mine on. The fact that you removed transfer rod may or may not relate to your rail tip dissapearance.

After my transfer rod broke I rode without it for a couple weeks and ended up having to get another rail tip. I used a machine screw and nut w/loctite to attach. Been good so far.
I think without the transfer rod the suspension moves to a position it wasn't designed for which rubs on the tips.

Removing the transfer rod uncouples the skid. It allows the rear to collapse and the front stays put...so the rail tips are forced out and away from the sled (as they pivot around the front arm). Mine get beat up because I run alot of transfer and do alot of wheelies...without the rod in there you're asking for trouble (depending on your riding style).
Why did you remove it?

Thanks for the feed back, I broke it when I hit some bad ice @ high speed, not feeling to good driving around without it, after losing both rail tips looks like i"ll be buying a new transfer rod.
