Transfer rod tool


If I recall , the tool is too big to fit in the tool kit so they put it with your owners manual. Look around if you bought it new you have the tool somewhere.
 
I ordered the spanner mentioned above and it is steel with no markings on it??? I think it should have a rule on it somewhere..
 
I find the spanner in the tool kit useless, it just slips off and you end up rounding off the segments and busting knuckles. At best it is a handy measuring tool for min/max transfer.
I have found the best way to loosen/tighten is to use a slightly blunt chisel with a brass hammer in the corner of the segments to break it loose and tighten. The shock force works much better than brute force in breaking the barrel loose. The diagram below shows the measurements that correspond with the min/max, so you can simply measure with a caliper or otherwise.
