I always thought it was the '16 Vipers that had the issue. Do the '16 Apex and Vipers use the same engines?

no. sr chassis has never had the 4 holer in it.

My 2015 Apex tossed the rod out the block , right in front of the oil filter and cut the filter down the side .
Everyone I talked to said “they don’t do that unless they are hopped up “

That’s the first ‘15 I’ve heard of, thanks for the info doc.
