Slidekick ice scratcher
one and a half seasons on slidekicks on my Nytro MTX and the GF Phazer MTX. Both have been driven over countless times and they still work fine.
They need to be tightened occasionally where they mount on the rail...they tend to loosen up when they have been repeatedly runover!

Daranello.... Your scratchers are mount 1/4 to 1/3 back from the front of the rail and look to be about 5- 7 inches away from the rail.....
Have you noticed any less wear on your sliders or was this done only for increased cooling?

What do you guys think of installing the Tric scratchers on this bolt? There is one on either side and it looks like it is only used to hold the bottom plastic on. My concern is this bolts goes into the bulk head, hmm is this strong enough???? I like the position and the tensions it puts on the scratcher and it actually locks into place once the bolt is snugged up. Concerns?

There is no way I would bolt onto there. One of mine is stripped just from pulling the body panels off. The abuse scratchers take I think it will tear the bolts out. I had a set of the scratchers on my renegade. Only one trip and took them off and sold them to somebody on SW. I have Slidekicks and they work great. I really was hopeful about the TRIC but they are a let down.
There is no way that I would put on a set of tric scratchers anywhere. I posted a while back with all the problems I had. Cost me hundreds to replace parts that got beat up from these things, not to mention that they fell apart. Post is titled"I got Triced"

ive had slidekicks under mine, between them and hyperfax slides I never have a problem with slider ware, damage to panels or overheating, dont have to think about them going in reverse or anytime for that matter... I will have both on my new skid also.

I've had Slidekicks on my XTX for 2 years now and they have held up pretty well. Installed on the radius of the rails up front. Not a perfect locale, but it works. A few cracks in the plastic cover but otherwise functioning.
My buddy bought the Tric scratchers (exact same blue ones as 2FarNorth) for a trip thru Gaspe this past spring. He put them on the sway bar mounts and the install was quick and easy, but after 1200km's of the tour (3 days), one of the Tric units failed right at the crimp between the stainless wire and the mounting head. Basically the wire broke.
He bought them from the local Yamaha dealer and wasn't impressed. They worked well, but didn't last. I don't think he got warranty either as they are considered a "consumable", but a 3 day life? I think Tric has had issues and made some improvements to the units. Personally, I still prefer the old spring type scratchers, but they don't fit so easily on the xtx/mtx.

Not lazy. I have asked on here how to link, but never got a reply. If someone could explain to me how to link, then I will start doing it. Thank-you for doing it for me.

i wasnt calling you lazy, I was just giving everyone a link to go to incase they didnt want to search for it.
to "link" a link to a page you just take the 'www' address from the bar and copy/paste it to the message boxes.
take the quotes off this link and you get a link in your message bar "http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php?t=47824&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0" and you get http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php? ... sc&start=0
