Anyone try the Yamaha branded TRIC ice scratchers and where did you mount them? Debating on installing some on my Sidewinder. Thanks for any input

They work great on the Yamaha chassis since you can mount them to the stabilizer linkage, but not doable on the Sidewinder. I would go with another brand cable scratcher mounted to A-arm or skid.

I thought about scratchers but since I get about 6,000 miles per hifax exchange I have to ask myself why?

I bought a used Nytro with the TRIC scratchers mounted under the bottom side of the running boards. The cable was kinked on one of them They also stretched the aluminium they were bolted to. It is hard to find sets that work well. I have used Ski Z scratchers that mount on the end of the skis. They are very effective but they do not fit good on Nytro MTX skis, they are tipped up too much on the rear. One ended up being tore right off. I have seen Ski Doo brand ones with a curled spring and a short arm that points straight down.. Looks like a great idea and is likely what I will try next. If anyone has good experience with any type of scratcher please post pics.

Had the tric ice scratchers on my 2010 Vector mounted on the sway bar and they lasted 1 winter before the cables broken and they beat the bottom on my belly pan up, I went to 135 mm wheels after that and got 6500 km out of the next set and I never had any over heating issues. I believe that a studded track helps a bit with cooling and slider lube.

I had a set mounted to the sway bar mount on my nytro but didn't like them very much. They sat on my shelf until last year when I installed my air frame boards. I then installed the tric ice scratchers on the under side of my air frames, they seem to work much better in this location.

I have these mounted on my nytro using the front bumper bolts.. they work great..

Sorry for double picture!! First time I have been able to do pictures:)

Cable ones will never last if you ride hard and in poor conditions. I gave up on them, especially now that they are like 100 bucks a set in Canada.

I use the old school springloaded ones under the running boards, the ones you cant reverse with. I run a studded track, so only need to use the scratchers a couple times a year generally.

I had same scratchers but when I put my airframe running boards on I had to come up with a difrerent solution, cable scratchers mounted in same location was about all I could do.
