I've seen it done a couple different ways. One is with a heated knife that is specific for the job.
The DIY guys just use a sawzall with either a fine blade or knife type blade. Then use two blocks or peice of pipe, in this case 2.5" tall/round and put one on each side of the paddle to use a s a guide and go to town. Works best with two people and with the sled up int he air.
