Or you can take the struts off and use a prop support each time to hold it up higher so you don't slam your head into it loading your sled. Been there, punched the bejesus out of the side of that trailer.
Porkchops right, the proper way to do it is to get longer struts and move either the lid or the trailer side mount to allow for the longer collapsed strut length. Use your existing strut part number to find what lbs it supports and then buy the same or even an extra 10 or 20 lbs per side in the new length. We replaced ours using some off ebay for 27 a pair, our 2" extra length gained almost 8 more inches in lid opening.
