I am ordering a new Triton with a cap. I am a little torn between an LT with the wishbone tongue or an Elite with a straight tongue. The Elite is supposed to be the best one Triton offers but it appears that the LT provides a lot more front support. Is it worth the extra $150 to go with the Elite or save the $150 and get the wishbone tongue?

I've had a Elite for 4 years now and have had no problems with it at all very nice trailer. The Elite comes as a drive on drive off doesn't it where as the LT doesn't because of the wishbone??
Either way I would recommend the trailer.

Go with the drive on/off trailer. If you ever had to sell, the drive on/offs seem to sell real easy. I had a drive on/off and had calls from guys with ATV's and sleds. Sold it in 2 days.

I got a ELITE I found that it had a stronger under side and they have an extra cross member and bigger frame supports and also have a heavier tow tongue by about a 1" in height... get it w/the 4' x 4' door I love that option you can walk right in and out the front...
The other thing if you order it I'd also go for LED lighting I converted all of mine what a difference in AMPERAGE, I went from near 10amps to 2.4amps w/LED, mine has 22 lights in total and they look a lot better too!

The down side to the LED lights is that they don't burn off snow like the standards but I do agree they look better.

We run them on all of Truck fleet and do agree to a certain point but are not that bad, they came out with a type that are more prononce/stick out more and tend to keep cleaner, the snow has no ledge to build up on and falls off.

I had an elite for 10 years and it looked new when I sold it. Pay the extra you get a better stronger trailer.

I have an LT with the wishbone in front. Good solid trailer. I have put alot of miles on it in the 7 yrs I have owned it. Very minor problems with it, I have a tendency to crank the ski hold downs to tight and broke the welds under the trailer. They were cheap spot type welds. But overall I am very happy with the trailer and the use I have gotten out of it.
But my next trailer will be drive-on-drive-off. I am getting old and lazy. btw, I will never buy another sled without electric start or reverse either

Ok I can get a NEW 12' LT - Drive on/Drive off with the triton cap with the 4x4 door for $3100. Seems like a good price. I was on Triton's web site and it looks like both the LT and the ELite trailers use 5/8's ply and the XT uses 1/2. I guess its essentially the same trailer as the elite minus the axle treatment and the full length surelock. Should I pull the trigger?

i went with a wishbone tongue on my sledbed trailer and it snapped doing 50 on the interstate with sleds on it. And all sledbed rep said was you must of jackknifed it. How the hell do u jackknife a trailer going down the interstate?. So $850.00 later this will be the last summer for the sledbed trailer. Getting a A.T.C. enclosed trailer. best trailers on the market right now.

Here you go, IflyEm ---- I just ordered this guy today. A 12' Triton Elite 12VR101 Enclosed 2KF 4x4 Coverall Trailer...... Grey aluminum cap, 8" ski slides all 12 feet, traction mats, 4x4 door...... I am psyched!
The trailer w/ Cap
The trailer:
I pick it up Monday after Thanksgiving. It has a ramp with slide guards and is a drive on/ drive off in front or back. In fact, the cap lifts up in entirely, just in front, or just in back. I was impressed. The quality also is excellent.
To all the Floe enthusiasts, I understand they are made in McGregor, MN and may very well be the best, but they were literally TWICE as much as this one, for the same size trailer. Yes, Turbolube hubs are nice, but I can repack my own for cheap........ I just could not justify the cost....

The reason I didn't go with the drive on/off is because the snow, crud and slush pile up on the part that is not covered by the cover and can freeze on you. The 12' tilt with the springs is easy to load by yourself.
For the person who was getting it for $3100. Where was that?
