weight in trailer

I own a 2007 ENCLOSED TRITON ELITE 12' with 20.5 x 10c tires and its rated for 2200lbs GVWR and the axle does have a upwards bow and the tires are 6 plies and rated for 1100lbs each @ 50lbs air pressure...I've attached some info my model # "ELITE12-101" trailer is 495lbs + cover 150lbs +/- total of 645lbs give or take - 2200GVWR = 1555lbs of live load div by 2 sleds = 778lbs capacity per sled.

the tor-flex axle is worn out. i have seen this alot lately. replace it and all should be fine. i have seen the 5000lb ones do the exact same thing. do you leave your sleds in the trailer in the offseason?

I do leave the sleds in the trailer all year. Does this hurt the tires. I would say my trailer weight is about 850 pounds empty. The top cap on these trailers are very heavy I can not lieft it if it snows a lot Thanks Ron

They say it's not good, because when you leave weight on them for an extended period of time the axles will flatten out from staying in that position

If you want to store the sleds in the trailer durring the off season, just go and get some inexpensive jack stands, four of them; and take the weight off of the axle, that is, if it's a concern. This will also help reduce the creep load, or bowing effect on the trailer as all the weight won't fold (for lack of a better term) around the axle. As for the tire wear, 25,000 miles! wow, I'd be happy with that. I ran tot he U.P. twice two years ago with my 10 footer, the tire pressure was appearently low and the tires were toast.

That's pretty much what I was thinking too. 5000 is closer to what I see normally. The torsion axles are not the best regarding tire wear, especially regarding unexplained cupping.
