truck ramp set up?

Built a sub floor in the back of my Dodge 8 ft bed, built a 8 ft ramp that will fit under the sub floor. Used some 2x4's, 4x8 sheet of plywood and 4 pcs of 2x8 boards with 2x4 framing. Cut up an old bed liner for ski guides, old track for ramp traction. I will post some pics when I get installed next weekend. What have others used? low Snow year I am thinking having the ramp with me all the time might be handy ( better than hunting for snow banks) What do you guys think? I figure I will use it modify it as I go and maybe fabricate frame out of light weight metal next year.

I've almost bought a sled bed several times. My 120" XP ski doo won't even fit in my 10 foot Floe Protektor trailer unless I put it sideways. What a joke!

A friend did the same thing for the bed of his dodge pickup. he uses it for loading both his atv and his sled. I was amazed how well it worked and mostly how safe it was.

i use atv ramps as well. i also have ski guides on a wood frame in the bed. (just so i don't tear up bed & ruin carbides)
dodge short bed w/ 136 sled, track hangs off tailgate bout a foot.

I did just what you described. Used it for 7 years and never had a problem. You will be happy with it. It is much faster loading and unloading than a trailer.

I use the same set up, a lot of people here do! I have made 3 or 4 different versions over the years and each one gets a little better.

Yep... this is what i use and it works prefectly!!!... only 1 issue with the plans. make sure that when you build your "ramps", the outside 2x4 needs to be brought in 1.5"... if not your sled bed in your truck is 4' wide and your ramps are 3' 9"... can make a very bad day...

Sherlock, I like it, mine is similar but I used the cross frame in the truck bed indents, set 2 2x4s and 1 2x8 ,attached the sheet ( Base ) of plywood to cross pieces used as the sub floor. My ramp is one piece and fits under the sub floor. I like how you used the rebar to lock ramp sections to sub floor. I used pins in the side. I will post some pics this weekend.

Here is mine. Ramp is 8ft long, Subfloor is also 8 ft plus 2 ft hinged section and truck bed is 8 ft. It's a start. should work well with or without snow bank. I want to add full track and fill in side of sub floor. Let me know what you think?

Looking good!!! thats going to work just fine!!! how is your bottom ramp secured? when i built mine i tried to keep as simple and light as possible. when i'm not using i remove my 2 ramps and just leave the deck in the bed.. and a few times a winter i need to remove eveything to beat out ice and snow that builds up around.... hate that much water on garage floor.. hehe...

I have two 2x4s that are spaced to provide a groove in or on the top edge and bottom of the tail gate and use a strap to my tow hitch. When I get more time I need to hook together with a pin. Thanks for the heads up on the Ice and snow build up..... have had neither as of yet so all is stored in my bed. This system is heavy and the less times I have to take in and out the better!
