I seem to remember one of the magazines coming up with a 535 lbs result in their dry weight testing. Not certain though.
Havnt seen 2010 yet but 09 mtx 583. I believe yamaha claims 21lbs loss for 2010? They also claimed the 09 is 553.?? For comparison xtx 565, m 1000 162 514, 800 rmk assault 507, summit 800r 154 466. These are quotes from snowsports magazine on intercomp scales, ready for the trail without gas.

Yamaha says 540 lbs dry in the 2010 manual
Picked up new snowsports today, mtx 563 wet no gas. xtx 567. 2010 mtx 20lbs less than 09, not bad.

I really don't think most people can tell the difference of 20lbs,,but its a step in the right dirrection for yamaha,,just need to get 50 of now. I'm around 500 with my 08 converted to 162 also,,,you can reallly feel that diet

Least expensive and fastest way to cut 10 lbs is a battery replacement. You can cut it by 12 if you go with the 7S battery.
Here are my weight reductions from changes to my 2008 Nytro MTX (Snow Eliminator. tunnel conversion, and sway bar delete are guesses):
1. Barkbuster front end = 9 lbs
2. Fox front shocks = 6 lbs
3. Snow Eliminator boards = 3 lbs
4. SuperQ Exhaust = 7.5 lbs
5. Mtn. Tamer rear suspension/brackets = 38 lbs
6. Skinz Tunnel conversion = 2 lbs
7. Sway bar delete = 3 lbs
8. Yuasa YTZ10S battery = 10 lbs
Total = 78.5 lbs

Just an opinion, I dont think snow eliminators take any weight off. they add it. Just because you cut material off doesnt mean you lost anything, because you just put a thicker piece back on... Just my .02 75lbs is great tho!!

You are probably right about the Snow Eliminators - the garage weight may be the same. Perhaps even a slight bit more.
However, I think that new boards, whatever the brand, definitely reduce the running weight of the sled - I always had a lot of snow build up with the stock setup.
In my area we usually have fairly wet snow. It doesn't take much buildup to be lugging around 3 extra lbs.
Anyway, that was my thinking when I listed the Snow Eliminator weight savings.
