Hopefully other RS Venture riders who are looking for more storage space find this post helpful.
I couldn't find a trunk bag that's an exact fit for my 06' RS Venture so I made some minor alterations on an OEM Yamaha bag.
First I purchased the Yamaha trunk bag (Part no:10-SMA-8GC63-00-00) made for Apex, Vector, Nytro & Phazer.
I made some minor changes by purchasing three 1" side release buckles. Using the excess lengths of nylon provided with bag I added an extra buckle in the middle & installed two buckles on the front & rear. Then I simply connect to the bracket provided by the RS Venture (behind passenger backrest) & connect the front buckle around the passenger backrest for a perfect fit that's very sturdy & works like a charm.
I had the bag fully loaded all day yesterday & it worked great.
PS: It helps having an upholster as a neighbor.

nice, however I think that the RX trunk bag would have worked better.

I have the smaller version however I was looking at yours but they don,t give any dimensions in the catalog. Thanks for posting pic's. I can see how big it is now. I also have saddle bags. You can carry everything but the kitchen sink in those.

Can you specify part no. on saddle bags? Pics perhaps too. I need to get some as well. Thanks.

I have a Canadian tire special tank bag modified to fit there as well. Great area for storage. The only thing I have negative to say on the venture is lack of factory storage space. But lots of options for adding storage so I am happy. The trunk bag and new handlebar bag make space for all I need.

I have the SMA-8ET73-00-00 saddle bags and the trunk bag looks like it has been discontinued.

Wow was just looking into this as the Venture is lacking in storage. Has anyone done above? I need something to store stuff. The Saddle bags could also work but are they in the way for the rider on the back?

The only trouble I have had with the saddle bags is sometimes my wife's mitt gets stuck between the bag and the handle. other than that, no problems. I carry everything from a first aid kit, to jumper cables in one side and that leaves room in the other for lunch.
I thought I'd share this even though it's not directly on topic. Whatever you are doing with your bags, make sure they are securely fastened, and some sort of a safety catch would be ideal. I had a set of Yamaha saddlebags on my 07 Apex RTX. Somehow one of the straps came loose. Having a bag fall off is bad enough going down the trail, but when it gets sucked into your tunnel at 90+mph, bad things happen! Saw the same thing this past weekend on the Manitoba ride. Fortunatly for the driver, his bag didn't get lodged between the drive shaft and front heat exchanger like mine did. Not sure exactly what to recommend other than check your straps before every ride and a couple of times during it.
