So I’ve been riding Yamahas since day 1 of sledding. Have never been towed in or any other type of breakdown. Always bought extended warranties and never needed them. Problem is that Mike at Rev-it-Up retired from working on snowmobiles. He has always given myself and my crew top notch service. So living in Rangeley Maine my other choices were Polaris at Koobs or Skidoo/Artic cat at Boss.
Last month an opportunity to take over someone’s snow checked Mach Z presented itself so I bought it. I’ve never owned anything but Yamahas. Still have my 03 RX-1 in my stable. Just wanted to know what anyone thinks.

Hey congrats on the new purchase. I've never been a one brand only type of guy so to me your choice to keep on the trails with something that can be conveniently serviced for you is a good one. Life is too short to not try different things.

Thanks for the positive comment. As far as “life being too short to not try new things” I agree. Just wish I could convince my wife of that philosophy.

I know how you feel about Mike retiring..that was one straight up guy...excellent mechanic and just the best guy to talk to and get info from...Julie certainly knew an awful lot too, awesome people...I certainly understand for the lack of a better word the "trauma" of loosing a long time trusted resource like Mike. I didn't know him as long as you did but certainly did rely on his talent and trusted him without question. Now I'm searching for someone who can just put the oil tank gasket on without it leaking all over the place...it's pretty bad...However, I'm not giving up on the Sidewinder, I'm sure the BOP gasket will solve my problems...Mike was the only mechanic I've come across who could seal it up without leaking.
Good luck with the Mach. Boss does sell and work on Cat's, not sure how their mechanics are, sales people are certainly nice enough, the guys at Koob's are very good and do allot for for the scene in the area. Joe

Congrats on the Mach Z, hope you share a honest review on your Mach Z when you get some trail time on her, having a dealer close for parts and service is always good no matter the brand, all the best to you!!So I’ve been riding Yamahas since day 1 of sledding. That will be one sweet ride! I think you will love the suspension. Muffler sounds awesome in stock form.

I think you will love the Mach. I bought a 900r X pkg that has the same engine as the Mach.
I had a 2017 Winder and loved it the two years I owned it. I went back to Doo because the Winder was a maintenance nightmare. Back in the old days I loved working on sleds and that was a good thing since I was a diehard Cat rider. I no longer enjoy working on sleds and my SkiDoo’s are the least troublesome of any sleds I have ever owned.
The Winder is by far the fastest sled on snow especially the ones that are tuned. You probably will miss the performance of the Winder but you won’t miss all the work the Winder needs to be somewhat reliable.
Good luck with your Mach and if you decide to race anyone with a Tuned Winder keep the race short.

Good honest post, I think Local 25 will like his new Mach, hoping he does a review when he gets some seat time, seen a few turbo Doo.s last year, had a chance to talk to a guy that owned one at one of our warming shelters, he really liked it, other than regular maintenance been pretty much trouble free, there is one heck of a lot of Doo's in my area now, even seen a few Doo riders wearing Yamaha jackets, I think they were protesting lol, happy with my pure Yamaha Apex, gets me out to enjoy the trails, not the best ride out there but very reliable it seems, again great post.I think you will love the Mach. Sorry for the long delay. With the marginal snow conditions here in Rangeley Maine, I’ve only put 150 miles on the MachZ. When my circle of sledders ask me how I like it I notice my reply is a basic one.
“ I like it. I don’t love it ( yet ) “
Seeing how I’m still breaking it in, I’ve been gentle with it. My biggest complaint so far is that the skis push really bad in high speed turns. I know it has a lot to do with the snow conditions but I’ve been around long enough to know that it’s a carbides not biting enough. I put snow trackers on my Apex a few years ago and I absolutely love them. So I just bought some for the MachZ. They will be here this Monday. Once installed I’ll be back to finish my review. It should be broken in by then. Thanks guys.

Check out this vid from Sledaddicz. They just put SnowTrackers on their Mach. They feel it transformed the sled.

I rode Rangely Lakes a few years back...the flat handling winder and throttle response made for a great trip on your awesome trails. No comment on the Mack, totally not interested, even though I rode doos for decades and loved them all. Hated Cats, but must admit the winder is just a fantastic all around sled with amazing, reliable massive power, and handling once dialed in.So I’ve been riding Yamahas since day 1 of sledding.
