My apex came with the tuner skis, I right away put my simmons skis I used on my other past apexs. Now they are worn out .
Tuners are great for not darting, but they push too much. the stock carbides are small and weak.
I would like to know if anyone has tried the carbides form snow trackers. Yamaha sells them as their most aggressive carbide. I don't know if they would make the sled kind of twitchy on hard pack. Or using just two of them either inside or outside of the ski.
just looking for input. I am really not interested in snow trackers, I don't want all the drag the large front metal piece creates.

When we did run the tuners, the Triple Points from Bergstrom worked the best. I ran them on the outside and then his hard bars on the inside.

I run stud boy shaper bars 6 inches in and out. They are tough and wear very well. The sled turns great and handles well under normal trail conditions. They do push when there is 4 inches or more of fresh snow on the trail. I also have my skis shimmed and my suspension set up for maximum transfer. I have not noticed a lose of speed with this set up.
You could consider Yamaha single keel with stud boy deuce bars 8 inch. I ran these on my 08 with excellent success, no darting and no push. These skis can be picked up used for cheap.

Too bad you’re not open to STs. STs simply the best to eliminate darting and being on rails in turns. Apex single keel skis inexpensive and unbeatable combination with Aggressive Snow Trackers. Can’t say I saw any reduction in top end speed but to me excellent trail handing at speed is far more important that 1-2 mile an hour on the top. You beat your buddies in the Twistywith eps and STs and will be there in top end too. All the positive buzz is true about STs and we messed around with tuners and all the other carbide brands. Imo when something is IDed as better you go with it. Good luck to ya maybe you will find an alternative.

Snow studs carbides 6"inside and 4" outside work the best for me on a 12 Apex.

X2 - Have the same combo on my Apex and my wife's Vector - we are both very happy with the setup...... ;-)
