Hey I am new here. I just aquired a '07 Phazer FX that has a rail extension on it and a brand new 144" track. What I am trying to do is get the factory extended tunnel on it I bought the MTN's longer bumper, a new snow flap mount since the old one was sucked into the track and tore and I got the flat piece that covers the gap that will be created. All Yamaha parts. I was just wondering if someone had a picture of bumper and rear part of the tunnel on the MTN Phazer handy. I am just wondering how the new flat extended tunnel piece mounts, if I need to fab up and angle into it to mount it to the original tunnel, or if the new piece comes with it. Thanks for all the help in advance looking forward to looking around here since there are not many Phazer riders out there especially up here in Polaris and Arctic Cat country.

Here is my sled how it sits.

welcome,

sorry i don't have any mtx pics, but it should be easy to do.
bolt the bumper on & then the tunnel "close off" plate should just sit on top.
the only issue you may run into like i did when extending the bumper, is there will be a gap on the side right by the bumper rail from where the stock tunnel stops & where your new bumper ends. you may just need to add some angle pieces.
i can see if i have any pics to better explain if you want.

I got the original bumper off and the rear most panel that holds the snow flap, crap load of rivets. is the tunnel pretty much the same between the MTN and FX except for the rear most panel and crazy long bumper? The MTN Phazers don't seem to exist here in MN.

Here's one of my wifes 08. I just extended the bumper and had a extension custom fabbed. All for just over a $100. She loves it and I get lot's of compliments.
Happy wife. Haapy Life!!

I think I am going to return the stock one I just bought a Skinz rear bumber for like $50 cheaper than the stock MTX bumper. But the dude I bought the snowmobile from kinda screwed me over so I have to replace the track the "new" track had missing lugs and a torn out clip. So gotta spend some on a new track.

Well since Yamaha has a ridiculous 30% restocking fee I just kept the stock bumper. I did find out it is NOT possible to to buy stock parts to make a GT into a MTX the tunnel is a different length and the parts are stupid expensive and expensive to return. So I ordered up a sheet of .063 Aluminum diamond plate. I made a cardboard template and cut it out on the AL with a cutoff wheel in a grinder. Then brought it to a welding shop to get bent. It is very strong and super light I even brought it back far enough to cover the tunnel hole, plus it is shinny so that is a plus. I am happy with it, turned out nice.

NAAAAh why lenghten the tunnel? I think it looks radical with short tunnel :) kinda like the Rush but whay cooler :)

Because the rear end hits the track and will bend up the mounting piece for the flap. Been there, done that.

. X2 and bought the T-Shirt

yea that is why the flap is folded up and tied in the first pic the last guy hooked it and tore out the flap mounts and tore a little of the rear AL. And it would be hard to lift it out of the deep snow when the rear handle is a foot in of the rear of the track.

That diamond plate looks really nice. ;)!

What track are you going to use?

I just went with a 144 stock replacement maverick from Tracks USA it was only $400 plus another hundred for full clips for anti ratchet wheels. When I went to look at before I bought it, it I noticed a small puddle of oil on the ground under the snowmobile, I smelled it and it smelled like gear oil. Asked the kid, he said he just changed the oil and spilled a little so I believed him. Now that I took apart the chain case I see he must have taken a sharp hit on the right frame and snapped one of the bolts for the chain case and it was leaking out of there. I got the bolt piece out the case is not cracked so hopefully I can just replace the bolt and that will stop the leak.
