Did the 04's come with tunnel protector's? I can't remember for sure but thought they did, and if they did do I have to change them when I stud it?

no tunnel protectors on the '04. if you stid it I would suggest some protectors and if you add a rear cooler you will definitely need protectors.

Yes they came with protectors.
No you do not have to change with studs.
You will have to extend them if you have or put on the rear cooler.
