No problems here neither. ;)!

I have 3 in mine, did 3 other sleds the same way, so far no problems. Have couple of buddies with that did this 3 years ago with no issues yet on the headgasket, seem like Yamaha gaskets are better than the aftermarket ones.

I think the machined shims are more prone to leak. What kind of gains do you realy get from lowering the compression? What kind of boost can you run on pump gas then? With three gaskets? 12-13 psi??

Thank you Skydog

You guys do realize that you are going to create more 'lag' with the lowered compression ratio, dont you? Personally i dont think that one of these engines running 12lbs of boost on pump gas with 3 head gaskets would outrun one running 8 or 9 pounds with one headgasket...IMO the list goes on and of for a stock motor to just keep one gasket and wait for rebuild time to lower the C/R the correct way.

Last year I ran my sled w/about 40% 116 octane and 60% 92 w/stock motor at 10 #'s boost. I was racing against some other turboed sleds that had low comp pistons. They were running 10PSI also. We raced many times and they could take me off the line and pull me for the rest of the time, so from what I have seen, having lower compression does not affect the lag.

Jonny, i see you are from Spokane! I am in Oak Harbor right now, just got done doing a Turnaround at Shell. Will be driveing home this Sat.!! To ILL.

I ran 14-15lbs with the gt25 on stock motor with strait 110 until I put the bigger turbo on then I did three head gaskets at 18-20 lbs. I put pistons in this year so I will be running 18lbs with 50/50 is the plan.
