Its not even snowing yet and I'm thinking about next summers mods. What are the difference between a turbo and supercharging on the Apex. I do mostly trail running and I want good reliability. Just don't know which way to turn.

Go do a search on the turbo forum, its been beat to death.

I would say Supercharger but i know some people would argue Turbo to the death and poke me in the eye with a spoon but alot of supercharger kits you can a stage 1 kit on pump gas you have more contestant power with out turbo lag like you might get on a turbo if your adjustments are not right the last thing i wanna be doing on a saturday morning before i go out for a ride or on the trailside is tinkering with timing and fuel curves but to each their own preference but anyways if do a search on "turbo vs. Supercharger" you'll find a lot of good info

IMHO If I keep my sled...it will be a mpi supercharger...true bolt on...no lag...no exhaust / header issues...maybe less power than some of the turbo's but I feel a more refined install..

i would say the supercharger is the way to go for trail riding more linear power , will make it easier on tighter trails and sounds nice too. the turbo,s are getting better all the time but more for open wide trail running because they seem to come on stronger when they hit

Whats this mean? Turbo good or bad? Ups and downs?
turbo's and superchargers are both good, he means that if you do a search for turbo vs. supercharger in the search section on the site you'll find alot of info. Because this topic that gets asked alot. Happy browsing ;)!

That means you will find a bunch more info on the turbo/supercharger forum.

There is a whole bunch to learn before adding either. The average guy without knowledge of boost WILL ruin the engine till he learns about octane and boost levels.

All the info you need has already been posted over there multiple times.

And to help you out, I've run both and would do a turbo every time. But there are drawbacks. It's not for the guy that doesn't have some tuning, knowledge and wrenching abilities. Don't go into it blind or it will cost you thousands in repairs.

yeah...thats the issue I have around here. I dont know anyone with a boosted sled.

Up north I know some are running it. I have been reading everything I can on it since I came to this site. Always fascinated.

Right now I would be leaning towards SC as well. Easy of install, less tinkering, less power over all....but should be less variables to deal with constantly.
