Im thinking about puting a MCX turbo set up on my MT lite. What do you guys think? Would I always be wrenching on it? I love my phazer but somtimes it could use another 30 or 40 horse power. I dont like wrenching all the time. Do you think I would be better off looking for a nytro mtx? I have already changed the track to a challenger and put extroverts on it(What a difference!) I am mostly a boondocker.

Well I guess that depends what you call wrenching all the time. So far on my phazer I have spent 2.5 months of wrenching after work and weekends and I am still working on it between rides. Almost all of the work now is suspension and other #*$&@. Once you get the kit on and dialed it should be no more work than stock but anytime you mod you start wrenching, you may not have to wrench on the turbo, but you may have to spend more time wrenching on other #*$&@ because of the added power and speed.

I spend more time working out the phazer issues than I do working on turbo related issues.

go for it but your sleds not gonna last very long after the turbo iv heard guys say 3000km depending on how much you ride that would only be 2 and maybe a little bit of the 3rd season for me.

I have asked this before but never quite understood the answer. Why is a turbo Phazer better than a lightened, Kachessed, rider-forward RX? Seems cheaper and more reliable to go with the RX. On paper they are both about 520 lbs and 140ish hp. Can someone tell me why people do the turbo Phazer instead of modding the RX?

That would be an insult to us Tazer owners. I had 2 RX's done to the limits without boost and they are not even close to the same. The biggest difference is the balance of the phazer in relation to the rider. The RX was always front heavy and a nightmare to jump. I had more near death experiences on my RX than I can remember. The narrower chasis is also a large difference. I have had minimal wrench time on the Tazer. Most issues have been worked out in the last year(air filter location, wrapping the header pipe, ect). I do miss the bottom end power of the rx on hard packed roads but that's it. Once on boost the tazer is AWSOME!
