I agree with rxrider, Your geared WayWayWay too Tall for 200 HP. You will go faster with stock gears 24/38. Ajust your clutching after you change gears.

yes im seeing that. i jus expected more from a dealer set up sled

Most dealers aren't turbo setup experienced, although they will claim to be just to get your business. You need someone that is specialized.

Did you actually count the teeth on that 27 top sprocket or is that what they told told you? I don't recall anything bigger than a 26, either.

In any case, I agree you are not using your clutches at all with that tall gearing...

they jus told me that. i'd like to pull it part asap. i have lots of lakes out out my way and want top end 24 or 25 tooth would suit me better?

Yeah, open 'er up and put in stock gearing, you'll find it is faster due to using more of the ratio advantage of the clutches...
Do you know what size turbo you have?

10hp per # of boost... on a 150hp baseline engine....

not on a 120hp baseline engine dude ;)

Ah, OK then. What do the Nytro's make? And yes I know they are 130 but the same base design...

Of course it is all dependent on the turbo size...

Try 24/38 from an RX1 then.

i bought myself an 05 yamaha vector and im not sure what to expect from it. it has a MC express turbo rated at 205HP at 15 pounds of boost. im running a 1.25 track and it came with 27/38 gears i have had it up to 119.9mph on GPS. i jus feel the sled has more power in there somewhere. i beat well set up mach z 1000s, but not by very much. can anyone point me in the right direction for the right clutching/gearing set up? its the way i bought it and havent played with it yet. is it gonna go better or is this all it has? any advice on set up would be great, thanks

I have a supercharged 05 vector from mpi that I have run for 3 winters. It is supposed to be 10 to11lbs of boost, 200hp. I have geared up and down, clutched and jetted on my own. I ride what they used to call fast trail in the old days. The best gearing to run for that is 22/38 which is the stock gearing believe it or not. It will out run what you are running now. If that is not enough go to a 24 but the 22 works better.

really? i have yet to find time to gear mine down since reading all this. what sorta top end u getting geared like that?

130 mph on the dream meter. It will take you close to a quarter mile to run out of gear with that set up.
