Turbochargers and gauges

I like the thought of a turbocharger but i don't want to be riding and have to look at the boost and A/F gauges every second. I don't understand why they are required when A/C and Poo factory installs don't require it.
 

You dont have to watch them every second. No different then the speedo. Its there when you want to look at it. And should some issue pop up - you can see right off the bat if the numbers are wonky.

As long as conditions remain somewhat constant and you dont fiddle with things, you set it up and ride it.
 
I am no expert on this but I am assuming that the factory turbo's are set up very conservatively and therefore there is no need to monitor anything.

The guys that add turbo's however may want to be able to run them right up to the edge of what is safe and therefore need the gauges.

At least from my experience on cars, boost gauges are worthless when everything is working well, but they can show you problems when things aren't working well. Two common problems would be wastegate arm disconnected, which means wastegate pressure only, or the wastegauge actuator stuck/froze, which would mean LOTS of boost with no wastegate operational.
