Got some info today from MCX.
They are going to start working on a kit asap.
Will come out with some numbers in about 3 month.
They are talking about 150 hp.
One of the guys working there is a moderator on one of the swedish forums.
His own words in our "yamaha 2007" thread.
Since the engine is 1/2 rx engine, the hp would be realistic,he said.

If they could squeeze a reliable 150 ponies under a phazer mtn I would have one for sure.

This sled with a turbo and a 151" with a decent apporach angle would be sick!

Great to see the Phazer Forum up already Mr. Sled! :rocks:

In one of the resent snowmobile-magazines over here there was an interview with Eric Marklund, the owner of MCXpress. In this interview he stated he wouldn't be making turbo-kits for any engine with less then 3-cylinders! He stated it would be too unstable under boost.

I guess he started thinking about it when he found out about the new Phazer... One should never say never! :D

Be OK for the bunny hills but won't touch an Apex or Vector on boost. IMO. I think it's an awesome sled BTW, Just can't see putting thousand of dollars into a turbo to end up with 130hp on pump gas.

I agree with Slymax. It would be a good woman's sled. That is with a decent track under it. My wife is on a MM700 putting out about 150 now. It is good for her. That is right about what the new phazer would be at the absolute most. Hers weighs about 490. So basically the phazer would be in the 700 class with a good track and turbo. If a person can even put a good track under it. I wonder who the idiot was that thought a mountain sled would be all right with a 14" wide track. But that is Yamaha's history. Make a mountain sled out of a flat lander sled. It doesn't really work.

I believe....Unless the ECU on the Phazer is re-programmable – it’s going to be hard to add any modification. You can cheat the system – but a backdoor approach usually slows it down in some spots.

If these guys are saying they can do it – then they must have knowledge that the injectors can be changed – can they pass that information on?

I'll guess they know what they are doing!?
They have been puttin' turbos on bikes since the mid '80,so they must have figured it out.

No doubt at all - either...but this unit is injected - can we ask them if the ECU can be changed on the Phazer?

Can't see it even being an issue. There are plenty of aftermarket turbo/supercharger kits out there for the FI Apex, Phazer kits will follow in their footsteps.

MPI remaps the computer for their apex s/c. According to Full Throttle Powersports, it is still too rich. It's accounting for some of the lousy mileage on the blown sleds. Sounds like MPI is working on a new map.

So you buy a base PhaZer for 5900.00 after discounts and install a 2 cylinder Turbo kit for 3200.

So you end up with a 150 HP Snowcross inspired sled that weighs 450 Lbs and has a power to weight ratio of 3.0 lbs/HP as compared to 3.9 lbs/hp for a Attack GT!!!!

Attack GT- 10,500.00 discounted

Phazer Turbo 150- 9100.00 complete!

Seems like a no brainer to me...

That sounds like a doable project and would still have the better suspension for those big jumps...
