Just wanted to say thanks to Tom for this unbelievable website. Over the years the help and knowledge I've gotten from this site is unmeasurable. From my 1998 SRX 600 to an 02 Viper then an 03 RX-1 , with a 97 SX as a side sled, I've never failed to find help, parts, info, or all of the above on TY. Turk, Richie rich, daman, Mrviper700, oh the names from the past. Can't thank you all enough.
As I've aged, I just have the need for more comfort and handling and I really want to try out an Rmotion. I got a nice deal on a 2012 mxzx 800 etec with all the updates done and I couldn't pass it up.
That said, I did sit on the black Viper at the Milwaukee show and I really liked it. I don't ride enough to justify spending over 10k on a sled, however, but who knows, maybe a used one could be in my future.
I can already tell that Dootalk lacks the kind of solid info I've gotten here over the years. Seem more like a bunch of hotshots arguing with themselves.
Anyway, I'm sure I'll peep in now and then but everyone take care and if you see my in a ditch, please use that four stroke power to give me a yank.

Bummer. Hate seeing anyone leave the Yamaha family! But good luck with your new sled!

I know what you mean about the dootalk site. Lots of jabbing and cutting comments from people who I am not sure know that much. Makes you really appreciate this site and the depth of knowledge with its users. Good luck with your new sled.

Just read a feature that said etek 800 MXZ handle flatter than than 850 Gen 4 MXZ where the curse of the ski lift is back when running trails hard and fast. Good choice Gen 4 MXZ has handling bugs in 2017 models.
