Two days until Novi show till I have to pull the trigger on a new track. Being a stud guy my whole life I want to try the 1.50" Crossover real bad without studs to feel how the XTX will pull. I also like the 1.352" Cobra option with studs. Decisions, decisions................

I too am trying a new track this year, 1.5 intense, no studs. I've ridden one season w/out studs on my last sled and it was fine (with a stock 1" phazer track), figure as long as you've got decent snow, good to go! If things get icy, gonna have to be real careful. From everything I've read, it's worth the trade-off.

Go with the Crossover. I have over 10,000 miles on mine in 2 different sleds. Best track I've ever used.

X2 on the crossover. Ive never ran studs.

I love my Ice Ripper XT. I have always ran studs and did not think I could trail ride fast without them. However after ruining many tracks from tear outs I decided to give it a try.

I did have to get used to it as it is not as good as studs on the real icy corners but overall it is a good compromise to not have to worry about tear outs.

I believe that they also make a taller lug track with the built in stud tips for guys that want a taller lug with a little more peace of mind on the icy corners and such.

The decision was real easy once I got to the show. I ended up buying the stock 1.25" Ripsaw from Port Yamaha for $350. Made for sense once I thought about it. It will the last season on the sled and besides that the last one lasted me 11,000 km's without so much as a pulled stud. With what I saved on the track I bought a set of Tuners decked out with Woody's carbides from Port as well. Done deal.
