TY Demo 08 Review

i would guess the apex would be quicker and faster by a good margin,but for tight twisty trails the nytro shines and would be a riot!!!

From what I hear its quciker then the Apex to 80mph.

the nytro should be quicker
from what i understand it has more torque and since its a ditch banger its gonna be geared low
and its only 15 hp less then the apex give or take a few

Which is quicker and by how much?

Whick is faster and by how much?

Which handles the curvy tight trails better?

On our demo ride, we were able to line up the Nytro and an 07 Attak. From 10 or so MPH, they were both side by side all the way up to 90+ MPH.

Since it was an 07 Attak I am sure it was broken in,the Nytro I am sure wasnt broken in. We all know Yamahas four strokes need 1000 miles on them before they start making FULL power. I would love to see a Nytro broken in then race one,should beat it until 100.

I dont remember exactly how many miles that were on the demo sleds, but my guess is that they were broke in. I dont know of anone who didnt beat the snot out of them while trying to get a "feel" for the sled. I had the 2 that I rode on the bar as often as I could. The have a lot of grunt!!!

Tom, you are one lucky man to get Yamaha bring new sleds to your door! Great report!

I hope those Nytro´s will be more durable than the Phazer´s here so far... Many of the Phazer owners have broken their rear suspensions here. Wayy too soft calibration and waaayyyy too weak materials on the rear. Our non-groomed trails take their toll I guess. Season 07 - 08 will be interesting.
