TY member Supported Cross Country Racing WE NEED YOUR HELP

Many of you have followed our progress or have talked with us about cross country racing and the I500. If you haven't follow the link below to our web site, www.usccracing.com

We had a major sponsor that has now backed out, unfortunately due to the lack of snow thus lack of business revenue. We had a team Meeting and even thou we are behind the eight ball due to this we have still committed ourselves to race.

The Entry forms got faxed in this morning. What we are looking for at this point is additional sponsorship dollars. Any member that sponsors us will have their name(TY Handle) on our sled, TY Yamaha logo/name on a 14 ft dual axel Expedition Trailer, Depending on the amount of sponsorship we will try to get local press releases and articles promoting TY Yamaha. We are looking for sponsors starting at $30 per person(gets you in the drawing). Any and all donations are welcome.

This race runs a minimum of 1500-2000 per person to run just for entrances fees fuel and lodging, If we can raise most of the money we will offer prizes from our sponsors via a drawing. If we race a minimum
of $2000 from the members we will have a drawing for our race windshields and other memorabilia from the race.

Lets put some Blue out front and I know with the help of this great forum we can do that!!!

We will also send a 5'7 that will be signed by both of us! This also goes for any of the remaining USCC races and any snocross event I race. The Video guy for USCC has already said he will do a little promo video that will get posted when done!

Hello guys and Gals,
I would like to introduce myself for those of you who have no clue who I am. I am Steve Emerson from Brainerd MN, long time snowmobile racer.
I started off when I was a wee little kid drag racing snowmobiles, in the Iron Range of Minnesota. During the weeknights after school my friends and I would go out riding every chance we got.
When I was a little kid and remember logging 230 miles on a Saturday on my old Jag 340, looking back that was killer on the old body, but I was 10-13 years old and I will say the fundamental learning skills like that made me the rider I am today. I thank my uncle and good friends for that. As time went on my Uncle and I stopped drag racing snowmobiles and I spent more time riding, I did notice that my friends and I were getting to be pretty good riders. So my friends and I decided to start racing snocross, where we busted up a lot of sleds, and busted up ourselves. The one I always looked up too, and still do snocross racer Earl Reimer, #100. I raced a couple of more years in the Snocross North Circuit, and decided to take a couple years off due to the budget and the toll on my body. I bought a 03’ Rev 440 and just kind of had fun the next couple seasons, perfecting my form. Then in 05-06 I took a look at cross-country racing, I got rid of the 03 Rev 440 and bought a good, used 05 Rev 440. Once again the help of some good friends and his dad molded me right in. First race Minto ND came out of the gate just smoking fast. Won my first race, and that year I won the Semi Pro 440 championship. And with that I got a good deal with Ski-Doo for the following year.
That summer couple buddies and I built quads to go racing in the AMA circuit, once again started out winning and running up front. I was on my way to 2 district championships when trouble struck me head on.
The day I broke both my right wrist and leg was two years ago in Staples. I was running in second reeling in the leader and we got into lap traffic. Needless to say I hit the 90ft fly away the lap traffic guy did too. He came up short and the butt end of his quad shot over and smoked my right front tire. I don’t remember much other that getting up and my boot felt tight and my wrist was like broke badly. A spiral fracture, and 10 pins and 4 plates in my wrist were the outcome, a much better outcome than having my wrist fused for life.
From there I worked hard at getting myself back up, the drive to accomplish more and more in my life. It was incredibly frustrating going through my days of pain, and through physical therapy. I did try a couple of X-C races that winter but was still way too green and sore to give it my all.
The following year I was asked to take what I call the Phazer challenge. Go out and see if you can win on a phazer, is what Yamaha and Brothers Motorsports wanted. I tried my hardest and fought a lot of issues, kicked my foot in the dirt a few times, however remained positive. I was asked to do something and when I asked to do something I don’t quit unless there is something stopping me. I ended up with a controversy championship, how some things panned out with points I know I won it, and so does the owner of USCC. A quote from Earl Reimer, sums up on my feeling of my year last year, "I've got a new buggy, a new team and a new attitude. I feel like a new man. It's like I've got a new lease on life and I'm just trying to make the most of it. I didn't really know how realistic winning this year would be because it never has been before, but it's unbelievable. I've been dreaming of this for a long time."

This year in the off-season I rode a lot of dirt bike and trained hard, kept my self a little safer and knew I was back on my feet again.

This year I was hoping to have been racing a Nytro, However the sled needs some improvements and I know there working on it to be a top-notch cross-country sled. Until then my option was to race the Phazer. I could have jumped ship and rode another brand, however I didn’t. I really like the 4-stroke motor and where it’s going, I really like TY-4stroke site, the guys are awesome and very supportive of me, in return I try to keep you guys motivated and informed on what’s going on. Gonvick was a good indication to how this year could pan out.

We are looking for a little help and willing to reward those that do help. Seth and I are independent riders with 40hour week wages, if you could help with our cause it would be greatly appreciated; any and all help goes along way with a small funded team. Seth Thorson
Age: 27

Occupation: Automotive Technician

Graduated from UTI with a degree in automotive technology currently employed with
J&B Eurotech where he works on European cars and performance modifications.


Background:
Seth’s racing career started in high school when he purchased a 1978 srx440 which he raced in the NSSRA speed run series. From there he was the head technician for national semi-pro Mark Nelson in the 2000-2001 season. After a brief hiatus from the sport to pursue school he was back racing snocross with the MSRXA for the 2003-2004 season where he finished 7th in beginner 600 and 4th in beginner open. In the 2004-2005 campaign Seth again had a good year finishing 5th in sport 500 and 5th in sport 600, For the 2005-2006 had a good year racing with WPSA he finished 3rd in plus 25 and 5th in sport open. Seth was having a great 2006-2007 campaign till he broke his ankle with 4 races left he still finished in the Top 5 in Plus 25 without finishing the season. For the 2007-2008 season, Seth raced Semi-pro in the Irace series and won Semi-pro championship in stock, he also finished second in points in Semi-Pro Open


This year I am on a Yamaha and happy to be back where my career started!!! We are doing all cross country races but I am sticking with my roots and running some snocross events as well.

Any help you can give us makes a big difference even if you chip in $5 it helps!

Remember the RD we do in racing benefits you as the consumer in the end!!!
