Does anybody else find the front suspension on the new Viper butt ugly? I can't stand how high the upper arms are on these things.

I'm not saying a person buys a sled for looks, but come on it DOES play a part in the decision.

Other than the front suspension, I think the machine looks bad azz. Can't wait to ride one.

It's called roll center. That's the geometry that got them to the spot that worked best and from an engineering/racing standpoint it makes sense to me. When your the first back to the trailer you will have time to be bitching an moaning about how ugly the suspension geometry is.

Looks like one step closer to those sleds used in last Star Wars movie. You know the ones that flew through the trees.Love the look!

I agree, very different, not sure ugly, I suspect it will be a trend or the new norm as the geometry does have its functional advantage

I think there good looking sleds. Once you see something you don't like on anything though always sticks out like a sore thumb. They do handle great so that may make it less ugly!

I definitely plan on at least trying one out. But I agree, once you see something that you don't like it sticks out like a sore thumb.

You will only have to drive north about 80 miles to Hallock to try one out. I booked an LTX. You would certainly be welcome to take a peek when it gets here.

I can't understand why the arms are so prominant ,such tall spindles if it works so well why don't all Formula 1 cars look as goofy?

Ah, Hallock, I know thee well!
I work for CP Rail. In 2011 I stayed at the hotel there for about a month and a half while we replaced ties from Thief River Falls to Noyes

Formula one cars aren't meant to soak up two foot bumps.

I was born in Hallock, dad used to farm in Lancaster moms from Halma and we used to deer hunt in Roseau Co wildlife management area up by Caribou. Rode the Roseau river up there quite a bit when dad was still riding, he loved that place. Small world.

the further apart the A-Arms the less deflection AND wear and tear on the bushing there is too! If I watch my spindles on my Phazer going down the trail on them with 3500 miles on the bushing you can SEE that small amounts of looseness is exaggerated quite a bit by the close mounting points of the upper/lower arms. The spindles wobble quite a bit and you can FEEL the wobble on a smooth trail.
