I was finally able to run my RX-1 this past weekend in Munising MI. I Have a 03 RX-1 that has been 136 with a ripsaw and Expert X skid. I'm also running ECP Filters. My brother has the identical sled but it's an 04. I also have a Brand new motor.

My brother is running Heavy Hitters with 15mm rollers. I ran Allen's setup with 14.5mm rollers. My brother is also running 24/40 gearing. Well we raced on all conditions and my sled was quiker and faster on top. The only place he beat me was in loose snow the first day. the second Day my motor started to loosen up and I was getting him there to. I thought the lower gearing would push him out front at first and I'd have to pull him with the gearing. I was wrong. The Super Tip weights excellerate quicker just like Allen Said they would.

The one place I was disapponited was the pump My fuel milage was crappy!!!!! I'm guessing the combination of a heavy thumb and the Huge mains I'm running with the filters is what caused it.

If anyone is looking for clutching talk to Allen At Ulmer racing. He did a bang up job on this.

I would agree on the questionable. I was up there this weekend and it's kinda hard to describe the trails. There is a great base and we didn't see any dirt or snirt. It's just that there is very little snow on the trail. The trail is ice covered snow. I did have some cooling and hyfax issues and only did about 275 miles in two days. If I was driving from Chicago and had the choose to wait a week and watch the snow forecast, I would wait for a few inches of fresh snow. But, that's my .02 cents. You will be able to ride, but at what expense to your sled?
Ok sorry to get off original topic. Back to the clutch setup, I am interested in more results. I have the HH setup and it seemed to work great and I have no complaints. What is the major deference in these kits. Do you feel these two sleds were close enough alike that we are comparing apples to apples?

No I do all My own Clutching.

Is ther somthing in my post that led you to believe I was talking about Matts setup?

The snow is good East of Muni. The only places it's bad Is when you come inand out of any of the towns up there . the worst section of trail was from the bear trap to Shingleton

My RX-1 was slower from top to bottom with 24/40 gearing vs. the 24/38. I thought it would at least be quicker in 660' but it was not!!!

Jason, glad to hear your happy with the setup!

I beg to differ here Jason, I got 17 plus MPG's last time up and I'm running 165 mains with my kit. I bet it's the clutching not jetting.

Mighty, he has a brand new motor, I'm guessing it just needs to break in yet. The clutching has had great mileage feedback from our other customers with it always reported as good as or better than the stock clutching.

If that's the case Allen, he should expect even better performance once broken in.

I agree!

My friend Ty went to Canada last week with Allens kit and stock air box. Fuel mileage was the sam and the performance was EXCEPTIONAL!Ulmers kit works!
