thefin said:Afr is about 13.5:1 at that point I have tried a few different maps from Allen but no luck have emailed him three times. Now and no response so I called him today and he said " I don't know why you are having trouble" as if I was the only one so I said do I add fuel at that particular location and he said I could try that and he never got back to me cause he was busy with another sled well I spent 7000 getting that kit so you would think that's enough to get some help seeing that I ordered it Oct 18 and never got it till dec 7 and I'm still waiting for clutching and had to tear it apart to install heat blanket that never got sent with the kit I'm not at all happy
Troy, I believe I did spend 1/2 the day last Friday on the phone with you trying to point you in the correct direction by emailing different maps, etc. Unfortunately this week I have been swamped and have not had much time to check email messages or phone messages (that is my fault and I apologize for that). I did just give you a call back and left you a message before checking out TY here.
I believe we were talking about if the fuel filter should touch the bottom of the fuel tank when replacing the OEM fuel pump assembly? I don't remember though if yours was touching the bottom of the tank or not? If it is touching the bottom of the tank I wonder if there is some sort of "fuel surge" when hard accelerating that the fuel pump can not suck up enough fuel with the bottom of the fuel filter possibly touching the fuel tank? This is what I would look at next. We have tried all over the air/fuel ratio range with different maps and it has not helped it (we've been at 13 A/F ratio down to 10 A/F ratio and it doesn't seem to change your problem, this is why I believe it may be a fuel delivery problem).
The reason I don't know why you are having trouble is because I haven't encountered this problem before! Rock River Power Sports in WI just did the exact same install as you did and it is running fine. Unfortunately trouble shooting the sled over the phone or via an email is very very tough!
i did ask you if the filter should touch the bottom of the tank when i was installing this kit and you said "i doesnt mater it will pull from all around " i will try that next i also told you before i ordered this kit i didnt want to be playing around all winter with a kit and i have already lost a month of riding and a trip to the mountains because of no kit then a kit that i am stuck trying to figure out

Troy, as we spoke on the phone, try lifting the fuel filter off the bottom of the tank slightly and see if that helps first and then try the other map that I emailed you once again. I have never had a filter touch the bottom of the tank completely against like yours is, it sounds like yours is touching pretty hard. Give that a try and see if it fixes the issue.

if this sled is popping then it a lean problem 4 sure. i would like to know the fuel volume...ive seen pumps have 45 lbs of pressure but the volume drops off and starve a vehicle. m 2 cents.maybe a fuel pressure guage inline during a test run to monitor pressure....oh and you said it wouldnt pull allens gearing....what if it was running correctly with his clutching installed! turbo kits are a tuner based add on...if you didnt want to deal with issues then you should have left it alone i think. The best tuners in the world run into these problems....just work with Allen and dont give up. I have personally seen his kits run on nytros here in NY and they haul @ss.good luck my friend.
oh im not giving up just alittle frustrated i lifted the filter so its about 1/8 off the bottom of tank just loaded ulmers newest mapping and going to try again as for the clutching im still waiting so i got it as close as i could with my heel klickers set up im pulling 8600 and i roll out to about 8900 thats the best i can do till the other stuff shows up thats y i geared back down for now just trying to get some riding in and i dont mind having to do some tuning as you can tell ive been trying to get this set up for awhile but im getting some what anxious allen did call tonight so i do appreciate that ill see how it goes

Make sure that the fuel line that goes from the tank to feed the fuel pump (in behind the primary clutch) isn't bent at too sharp of an angle and kinked off also.
The kits use a Walbro pump with Malpassi 1:1 fuel pressure regulator on it. So fuel flow shouldn't be a problem unless it is restricted somewhere (like by the fuel filter or possibly a pinched fuel line). Your base fuel pressure at an idle should be 60 psi and will raise 1 psi for every pound of boost (so at 8 lbs of boost you will have 68 psi fuel pressure).

well i logged on an incredible 14 miles till i over heated i found my fan fuse was blown im not sure why. anyway sled now misses about half the time afr is 12:1 in the 6-7000 range wot 11.5 when the sled does not miss and break up it does pull really hope this get figured out i appreciate the help i checked the fuel lines already i thought the same thing might be happening i will check fuel pressure tomorrow i had five pulls in a row with no miss then it started again

Make sure all your lines from the fuel tank to the fuel pump are tight and not sucking air. Also make sure there are no leaks in the pressure signal line going to the fuel pressure regulator.
Hope this helps, Howard

Another thing ij just thought of was bad gas! have you drained the tank and refilled with good gas of the proper octane? my local guys are building great numbers on E85!!! just trying to think of everything here.
Yea I have changed fuel I am running 98

98 octane (like a mix of pump gas and race gas or straight race gas)?
The reason I ask is because too high of octane can actually cause stumbles, etc as the ignition timing, etc has not been changed to take into account for the cooler burning fuel.
Too much octane can cause an engine to run "heavy". You can try to tune it by changing the fuel mixture, when actually the flame front is causing the problem as it is not getting a complete burn.

The pump gas is 94 and I am running torco excelerator just running half as much as they tell you to make 102 so it's about 98 I just don't want shitty fuel to burn me down

Vacuum leak...
Take a can of carburetor cleaner and every point on the intake side, spray it around any flange, fitting or hose to detect an air leak.
If there is anything leaking, you can detect its general location when the RPM at idle surges when it takes in the cleaner at the point of an air leak. ]
Get back to pump fuel...those octane additives can create problems like the one you're experiencing.

Yes, changing fuel is one of the easier things to try. I am not too proud to admit that I've personally wasted days before chasing performance gremlins that ultimately ended up being bad fuel or a "different" fuel than what the machine was usually run and tuned on.
Now I'm smuckin farter.
