I am looking at installing an Ultra Plate from Yamaha or a Skinz Flotation Plate. Could anyone who has one/either installed on the FX Nytro place a pic from a real sled to view? I am having trouble making my mind up which to purchase and install. Thanks TY Members.

Front Skid Plate

I can't believe no one has installed a front skid plate. Well, pics don't seem to be popping up anytime soon. I have purchased a Yamaha Blue skid plate. I will install it by next weekend and take a pic, post for others to see. I couldn't wait any longer to see whick looks better, Genuine Yamaha or the Skinz Floatation plate.

My white Yamaha one has been paid for and in just havent picked it up. My a-arm covers didnt fit right

Here is my installed Skinz float plate in white. Click for full sized pictures.

The install on the plate was a breeze and the fit and finish is great. My only grip is the lack of a logo or anything on it. It would be nice if it said "Skinz" or "FX Nytro" or something on the front lip. But that's a small complaint to make for an otherwise great plate.

I'd be interested in hearing if the plate makes a difference with the wet left foot.

I haven't had a problem with a wet left boot and here is my pict. Without the skid plate on there is a lot of room for the snow to get in under the panel. The skidplate closed it off nicely.

Skid Plate

Thank you TY Members for the pics. They look great. It is a hard decision whether Ultra Plate or Floatation Plate. I have purchased the Ultra plate and await its arrival. Thank you again. I will also post a pic once mine is on.

How did you get the a-arm protectors on with the floats? There is no way to mount the front bracket

Skid Plate

Sorry my pics are not that clear. The Yamaha Ultra plate. It fits nicely, but I am also thinking the floatation plate would have been nice too. I may change mine little later. Here are couple of pics to include. Thanks to TY members for their pics.

For the guys with the Yami Ultra plate. What side did you tip your sled on? Did you pinch off the fuel line? If so where do I find it? I am a little hesitant to tip the sled over for fear of oil/fuel leakage problems I have read about. Thx!

I just lifted the front end to about 30 degrees with a set of chainfalls from the roof of my garage and installed it lying down. (I used a few ratchet straps for extra strength while it was hanging just incase) Took about an hour, pretty simple. ;)!
