My rear suspension has been at the dealer now for 2 months. Yamaha had approved the replacement under warranty a month ago for the hair line cracks in the rear slider rails. Just call dealer again today and he told me they won't be shipped to them till at least middle of June as they are re-tooling.
Maybe they have realized their mistake and are beefing them up.

Keep us posted. I've got the faintest beginnings of cracks in mine, but when you can get over 100mph, that's significant enough for me. I've been thinking that I will wait until September to go to the dealer, hoping that updates/changes will be in effect by then.

I wish I had waited till September. Right now the rest of the sled is in my garage taking up valuable space. It's hard to move it to the back shed with no rear suspention in it.

Hi all,

Well. It's only taken 4 months to finally get my new warranty covered rails and rear suspension back. I'm not sure if they are any different or not. I will post a picture tonight to show new rails. When I talked to Yamaha, they said they were retooling and this was why it took so long.

I'm thinking it might be a good idea to replace the 2 bogies here with a bogie assembly. Meaning, adding a shaft between the 2. Has any one tried this?

Cheers,
Chris

You can't put a shaft between the idlers because the monoshock moves into that area as the suspension compresses.

Your new rails should have reinforcements added to them like the 06's do. They are bolted on just behind where the front pivot arm attaches and continue to where the rail cracks form.

Post some pic's. Also have a look at the suspension pics in the Apex forum.
