Recently in the phazer section it has been said that the updated rear suspension part for the 07's are now a recall, and that a fan for the radiator may also be under warranty. Also the tunnel can now be closed with sheet metal and the sled will still remain under warranty. I was just wondering if you could confirm any of this, or if this is still just all internet rumor.

As far as Phazer updates go there is only one recall item and that is related to some nuts on the steering linkage getting replaced and new style cotter keys being installed on those nuts to prevent ice from breaking the current clips and allowing the nuts to back off if they would happen to come loose. This is a recall and all Phazer owners should be receiving a letter in the mail in the future. When this recall is performed the airbox needs to be removed and while doing this we will also be replacing the riveted clips inside the airbox that some customers have shown concern about.
I recently attended the tech update seminar and as far as the suspension linkage and fan issue goes it honestly reminds me of the deal with 06 Apex/Attak chaincase issues. That season this site was running rampant with chaincase posts and at that tech update there where roughly 40 dealers and when asked about problems with chaincases we were the only dealer in the room who had seen one - since then we have seen one more - doesn't seem like such a high failure item considering there were roughly 40 dealers present. This tech update was kinda the same except there were two dealers in the room that had seen a broken Phazer linkage and not many spoke up about overheating. I think like the chaincase deal the broken linkage and fan/overheating posts will die down like the chaincase posts did once this season gets rolling as most that were having issues have had them addressed. I will encourage though that anyone that has a failure (and this isn't just limited to these items) needs to get the sled into a dealer and get the problem addressed/registered with Yamaha. Yamaha technical support can't work on/fix items they don't know exist and the only way they track this info is through the dealer network.
As far as closing off the tunnel I have never seen or heard it recommended to completely close it off. Yamaha offers some nice accessory panels to finish off the look of the 07s or I also have heard the 08 rear sections will bolt up to the 07's (the front section (under the tank) will not though).

Thanks for all the information.
I have had both of these problems, the overheating is not such a big deal, just turn the engine off and wait a few minutes. Should not happen on a brand new sled however.
But the broken linkage is not so fun. For me, it happened when i was up in the mountains, 40 miles back to the truck. Then i was not laughing.
I think that the linkage is to weak, at least for the kind of trails we have in sweden. Yamaha should replace them before people get stranded on the trails.
We are 3 Phazer owners in our group 2 of them have broken their linkage.
Im gettin the new linkage on warranty, just waiting for the parts.
so i should not have to worry this season.
Dont get me wrong, i still love my Phazer!
