Uploading GoPro vids

This is what I use, and after having 2 GoPro's fail, I started carying these at my store. Tons of features, HDMI, time lapse, 1080p, etc, etc..
I like these because they don't have the wider field of view which I think the GoPro's tend to kill the action shots. Tried jumping from ditch to ditch across a two lane road on my Nytro and it made it look like I went over a little bump. (little bumps dont usually leave teeth marks on my seat.. :-D )

So far I've sold quite a few of these and haven't heard any negative comments about them!

I'm returning my GoPro 3 Black tomorrow, due to too many problems:

1. Horrible battery life (and no, I don't want to carry 3 spares). It's not just while recording video - even if the camera is off but wifi is on, the battery will drain quickly.
2. It locks up or "freezes" about 10% of the time I use it, causing lost photo/video opportunities. The fix is to remove the camera from the plastic case, remove and replace the battery, then re-install the camera in the case - by then my buddies are miles ahead of me
3. The WiFi app for Android is somewhat buggy, and wifi control is one of the primary reasons I upgraded from my older HD Hero.

It's a bummer, but after being pretty happy with my old HD Hero, I expected more from the Hero 3. I read numerous negative comments online before I bought it, so I have no one to blame but myself I guess (and GoPro of course).

I have a few other new camera options in mind, but I'll wait until next winter now to buy a new one.

You can get the extended battery straight from gopro. The first cameras, not sure about the hero3 use to use the camera heat while recording/on to heat the battery for better cold weather operations. I can get 4-5hrs record time in 0-30*s and still have battery left. I also start and stop mine alot...

I have both the hero hd original and hero 3 silver. I use both as a helmet cam. Video quality on the hero 3 is awesome. I also use the extended battery with the maximum sd card for each 32gb and 64gb... cant really go wrong with the gopros. I would suggest a silver or black if you have the money.

Where do you get this extended battery? Cold weather destroys my battery life I stick in my pocket when not using it to keep it warm. Was going to buy a second battery to swap between rides.

Ive had nothing but good luck with all my gopros. I was hesitant to buy the hero 3 because of what others have posted. The big issues with the cameras went away with the updates back in december. Leaving the wifi on will drain your battery fairly fast. Its no different then your cell phone. The other issue is to always format your card in the camera. These cameras seem to be picky if other files are left on the card. Such as using an apple to download your videos without formatting. Apples leaves extra files and folder which have no bearing on the cameras operations but tend to mess it up. As for the phone app yes its slow but the purpose was to simply start/stop, setup and aim the camera and not to watch what the camera sees. Hope that helps you. And yes some early release cameras had problems but i bet gopro would be willing to replace yours. If within warranty 1 yr.

These cameras are more sensitive then the older ones no doubt. Such as having the correct sd card. I cant remember off the top of my head but they need to be able to read and write at 30mbs or faster. Class 10?

Those do look like decent little cameras, and by little, I mean I like the size of them.
