I was riding my Apex to work today and a friendly reminded to grease and/or replace old wheels snuck up on me. Upper guide wheel bearing blew on me. Made a hell of a bang but did nothing other than destroy the bearing. Already having one delivered to work and will have it fixed in the next couple hours when I am done with my shift. So the point of this is to check your wheels!!!! Those were the only two I didn't replace at the beginning of the season because they were still good, :o| so I repacked them with grease and 2500 miles later they are destroyed!

Yep need to replace... so what do you do that your able to drive your sled to work...... SOOOOO jealous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

cheers!!!!

Actually I have a desk job hence the reason I am on TY all day, I am a Mechanical designer, I design modular commercial air conditioners. Basically work in CAD all day so when someone needs a specialty piece designed feel free to ask! The best part is the trail goes about 20ft from the parking lot here so I haven't drove my car to work in the last 2 weeks! :)

Nice... ya i work as a Mechanical engineering tech... at a refinery... but NO trails to my job... but i do leave right from my garage most of the winter...

Good luck with the wheels..... my first set lasted 8000 miles before change(with greasing)..

cheers.....

UPPER GUIDE WHEELS

I just removed my suspension last weekend to replace my W arm and I bought replacement upper guide wheels since I assumed they were going to be shot after 7500 miles. Never repacked them ever. I did end up replacing them but truly they were fine and I could have just put them back in.
